Tom Kitt, T.D., Government Chief Whip and Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, announced the Government’s Legislative Programme for the Dáil Session commencing on 31st January, 2007.

30  November  2006 -  MINISTER KITT WELCOMES LATEST EMPLOYMENT FIGURES

Commenting today at the CSO Quarterly National Household Survey release for the third Quarter 2006, the Government Chief Whip and Minister of State, Mr. Tom Kitt, T.D., said: “I welcome today’s figures, which show that the number of people in employment grew by over 83,000 or 4.2% in the year to reach 2,073,300. The numbers of people in employment have once again increased and are now at historic high levels.”

Government Chief Whip and Minister of State, Mr. Tom Kitt, T.D., has welcomed the Live Register figures released this morning, by the Central Statistics Office, showing a continuing improvement in the number of persons signing on the Live Register.

16  February  2006 -  87,000 Jobs in 2005 - Recond level of growth

Government Chief Whip and Minister of State, Mr. Tom Kitt, T.D., today welcomed as highly impressive the latest CSO figures showing an employment increase of 87,000 or 4.7% in 2005. This is the highest annual rate of growth recorded since 1999 and 2000.

Minister of State and Government Chief Whip, Tom Kitt, T.D., today welcomed the fall in the annual inflation rate to 2.6% in November - down from 3.0% in September and October.

Minister of State, Tom Kitt, T.D., welcomed today the fall to 2.1% in the annual inflation rate in June - down from 2.4% in May and below the 2.2% registered as an average for 2004 as a whole.
