Strategy Statements
This is the sixth Strategy Statement prepared by the Department under the Public Services Management Act, 1997. This Strategy Statement sets a clear direction for the Department’s activities over the next three years (2008-2010).
The Department of the Taoiseach's Strategy Statement for the period 2005-2007 clearly identifies the key role the Department will play in continuing to progress national priorities identified in the Programme for Government
I would like to welcome the publication of the Strategy Statement of the Department of the Taoiseach for the period 2003 to 2005. It is important that all Ministers and Departments review their strategies and objectives on a regular basis, and the appointment of the new Government has provided a useful opportunity to do so.
This Strategy Statement is the second prepared under the reforms introduced by the Public Service Management Act,1997.

This Report sets out the progress made in 1998 and 1999 against the key priorities identified in the Department's Strategy Statement 1998-2001.
This Strategy Statement, in addition to setting out key goals and objectives, also provides the basis for formal delegation of responsibility and accountability to teams and individuals for the achievement of these objectives.
