Economic and Social Policy

The Economic and Social Policy Division advises the Taoiseach on economic, social and environmental policy to support him in his role as Head of Government. The Division contributes to the formulation of policy, supporting long-term planning and inter-agency co-operation in policy development and implementation and leads or participates in a range of cross-departmental initiatives in key policy areas. This includes supporting a number of Cabinet Committees established by the Government to progress key priority areas of economic and social policy.

In addition, the Department of the Taoiseach has a co-ordinating role in relation to the development of the International Financial Services Industry in Ireland.
