Mr. Donal O'Donnell, S.C. for appointment to the Supreme Court and Ms. Margaret Heneghan, S.C. and Ms. Leonie Reynolds, B.L. for appointment to the Circuit Court.

Launch of the Report of the High Level Action Group on Green Enterprise
The National Implementation Body (NIB) has considered the complex issues currently being discussed by the management and unions in the context of further restructuring at Aer Lingus. The Body notes that local discussions are continuing and that these will intensify this week.
The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen T.D. announced this afternoon that Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, currently the Irish member of the European Court of Auditors, will be the Government’s nominee for appointment to the next European Commission.
Government Chief Whip Pat Carey has this evening welcomed agreement on the holding of a Pre-Budget debate next Tuesday.
The Whip said, "The debate which we have agreed this evening will allow for Ministers, Opposition Spokespersons and Deputies to share their views on what decisions should be made in the upcoming Budget.
The Government welcomes the publication of the National Economic and Social Forum's report on Child Literacy and Social Inclusion: Implementation Issues
This report has been produced under the NESF's current mandate from Government, that is, to focus strongly on the Irish experience of policy implementation. The Government welcomes the focus on experience in this area particularly given the potential for lifelong disadvantage arising from poor literacy skills.
Government Chief Whip Pat Carey has this evening announced that time will be made available for all sides of the Dáil to contribute to a pre-Budget debate on November 17th following the publication by the Minister of the Pre-Budget Outlook.
This report is the first to be produced under the NESF's current mandate from Government, that is, to focus strongly on the Irish experience of policy implementation. The Government welcomes the focus on experience in this area particularly given the challenges facing Ireland in relation to its ageing population.
