Retirement from the IDA of Kieran McGowan
In his outstanding thirty-two years of service to this country in the IDA, Kieran McGowan has played a key central role in developing a most successful national industrial strategy.
By building around him a team of committed professionals, by focusing on new developments which would create a network of quality jobs, and by working closely with successive Governments in implementing far-sighted policies, Kieran has proved himself to be an excellent Chief Executive, an innovative strategist and a superb administrator.
The fact that during his eight years as Chief Executive the IDA has doubled the annual job creation of overseas companies, halved the cost of job support and trebled the impact of IDA supported companies on our economy, is a fitting tribute to his energy, drive and vision.
I thank Kieran and his family for his remarkable record of practical patriotism, and I want to use this occasion to once again congratulate the great IDA team which has delivered so well for Ireland. May Kieran gain all the success he deserves in all his future endeavours.
