No. 16 of 2003 - Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act 2003

What does this Law do: 

This Act strengthens the law in order to deal more effectively with late night public disorder and disturbance, which mainly has its origins in alcohol abuse.  One of the ways in which it does this is that it provides that an exclusion order can be Mada's an additional penalty if a person is convicted of a public order offence - this means that they can be barred from certain premises of a type covered by the Act.  The Act also allows Garda Síochána to apply to the District Court for a closure order for certain premises.
