What does this Law do?
This law establishes a Broadcasting Funding Scheme for
new television and radio programmes on Irish culture, heritage and experience,
new television and radio programmes to improve adult literacy,and
the development of archiving of television and radio programme material.
The Scheme is to be developed and administered by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, and is funded by 5% of the net television licence fee receipts.
