What does this Law do:
This Act gives effect to the recommendations of a High Level Group on the operation of the 1997 FOI Act. It also provides for related matters which have arisen since the enactment of the original legislation. The most note worthy changes introduced were to Sections 19 (Government records) and 20 (Deliberative Process). The period for which Government records are exempt has been extended from 5 to 10 years.
