No 15 of 2005 - International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town Convention) Act 2005
What does this law do?
The Act makes the Cape Town Convention and its Aircraft Protocol part of Irish law. The Convention provides a uniform international legal framework to facilitate asset-based financing of aircraft. By providing greater security for lenders it will be easier, and probably cheaper, for airlines to obtain finance for new aircraft with improved safety and environmental performance.
