Finance Unit
- Management of Departments Financial Management System including processing purchase orders and authorising invoices for payment
- Preparation of Financial Reports for Management and to meet external requirements
- Monitor Department's budgets and provide financial management to the Department and Bodies under the aegis of the Department
- Preparation of Department's annual Estimates (with Department of Finance)
- Preparation of Department's annual Appropriation Account
- Implement Management Information Famework (MIF)

I.T. Unit
Strategic Focus
The main goal of the IT Unit is to assist the Department in its role of supporting the Taoiseach and the Government. It does this through the provision of secure, flexible and efficient IT systems and infrastructures.
The IT Unit is focused on:
- developing applications to support the delivery of quality customer service;
- Management of electronic information;
- Provision of systems to support cross-departmental business and processes;
- Providing secure, flexible IT environment to support the Departments needs going forward;
Work of the IT Unit
The IT Unit comprises two main areas of responsibility:
- Network Management and Administration;
- Systems and Applications Development.

Change Management and Training Unit
- Supports and develops Partnership in the Department
- Coordinates the preparation of Annual Reports and Strategy Statements
- Supports the implementation of Performance Management and Development (PMDS) in the Department
- Develops and implements the Department's Irish language policy
- Manages staff training and development
- Oversees the (non-technical) management of the Department's website
