Welcome to EU JOBS.IE, the Department of the Taoiseach webpage dedicated to supporting Irish citizens interested in pursuing a career in the EU institutions.
Employing more than 50,000 officials, the EU institutions serve 505 million people across 28 Member States. The scope of their work is exceptional, as are the opportunities for career development and progression. Whether your background is in languages or law, public administration or social sciences, the EU offers the chance to pursue a unique international career where you can make a real and lasting difference.
With so many opportunities on offer, knowing where to start might not seem easy. This webpage has been designed to help you in taking the first step by providing essential information about the type of jobs that are available and how to set about securing them. Click through the tabs below and you’ll learn most of what you need to know about the opportunities that are out there and how to take them.
You can also check out a new service ‘Irish Voices – EU Careers’, a joint initiative of European Movement Ireland and Careers Portal.ie, supported by the EU Jobs Campaign. It provides a brand new section on Ireland’s premier careers portal service, with information and advice about opportunities in the EU for Irish students, graduates and jobseekers and career guidance professionals. Four new videos have been made which feature Irish people who work in EU institutions, including Catherine Day, the Secretary General of the EU Commission.
Supplemented by a regular e-newsletter and social media presence, EU Jobs.ie aims to keep you up to date on the latest developments in EU careers. And, to support you in turning an application into a job, we also provide dedicated information and training services to Irish candidates ahead of specific competitions.
