Seventh Plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council
The Taoiseach Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., will today attend the Seventh Plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council in Derry.
This is the first plenary meeting of the NSMC since the Taoiseach and First Minister Peter Robinson took office. Also in attendance will be deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Ministers from the Government and the Northern Ireland Executive.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for Ministers to review progress across all areas of North/South co-operation. Issues of common interest likely to arise include the economic situation and co-operation to develop the North West Gateway region in counties Donegal, Derry and Tyrone.
