Sections of the Department

In supporting the work of the Taoiseach and Government, the Department of the Taoiseach works with other Government Departments to implement Government Policy primarily through the Cabinet Committee Structure. 

The following are our main divisions dealing with policy areas:

• Economic;
• International, European Union and Northern Ireland Division;
• Social Policy and Public Service Reform;
• Data Protection

Other Sections

As well as supporting the Government's policy priorities, the Department has the following core tasks:

• Providing the Secretariat to the Government;
• Liaising with the President and the Houses of the Oireachtas;
• Providing Protocol services;
• Providing Corporate Support services;
• Programme for Government
