Government Chief Whip announces Legislation Programme for Oireachtas Autumn Session
The Government Chief Whip Pat Carey today announced a wide-ranging Legislative Programme for the coming parliamentary session.
Speaking following the announcement, the Chief Whip said:
“The Bills that we are indicating will be published in the coming session reflect the work ongoing across Government Departments as we continue to lead Ireland through difficult times in the domestic and world economy.
Building on our strong output of key legislation in the last Dáil session, I am hopeful that this will continue between now and the New Year.
Many of the Bills listed for publication in the coming Dáil and Seanad session will help to protect communities and citizens.
Key pieces of legislation in policy areas such as Justice and Environment will help to improve the quality of life in Ireland. Key Bills in today’s list include the:
· Labour Services (Amendment) Bill
· Noise Nuisance Bill
· Criminal Justice (Forensic Sampling and Evidence) Bill
The coming Dáil session will be a key period in Ireland’s return to economic growth. I am confident that we will have the support of Dáil and Seanad Éireann of these key pieces of legislation. The list of promised legislation today is another strand to our longer term economic recovery”.
