Chief Whip Announces new Legislative Programme for the coming Dáil Session - Tuesday 23rd September 2008
The Government Chief Whip Pat Carey, T.D. has today announced the Legislative Programme for the forthcoming Dáil session, which commences tomorrow.
Minister Carey said “Working with each Government Department, we have put together a Legislative Programme which is both ambitious and achievable. Over the Summer, I have met with senior officials from each Department on a number of occasions and I have now agreed this Programme with my Government colleagues.
Among the bills which will be published during the coming period are:
· Employment Agency Regulation Bill
· Industrial Development Bill
· Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill
· Inhumane Munitions Bill
· Adoption Bill
· Nursing Homes Support Scheme Bill
· Criminal Justice (Forensic Sampling and Evidence Bill)
· Sale of Alcohol Bill
Over the coming months the Government will continue to make progress on bringing forward legislation aimed at improving our society and strengthening our economy.
In the Dáil session ahead, I look forward to working with Government and Opposition TD’s in making real progress on introducing and enacting new laws that will be central to Ireland’s future.
