Taoiseach Meets Northern Ireland Leaders

The Taoiseach, Mr Brian Cowen TD, will today, Friday, meet the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Mr Peter Robinson MP MLA in Dublin.

In what will be the First Minister's first visit to Government Buildings since he took office, the two men are expected to discuss the prospects for a resolution of the current disagreement between the parties in Northern Ireland.  They are also expected to discuss wider North/South relations and the possibilities for further co-operation in the face of the current global economic crisis.

The Taoiseach will also hold a meeting with the deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, Mr Martin McGuinness MP MLA.  Those talks are expected to cover similar issues.
