Taoiseach leads trade mission to China

The Taoiseach, Mr. Brian Cowen TD, today Wednesday, commenced, his visit to China leading one of the largest ever trade missions, including nearly 100 Irish companies and organisations.

The Taoiseach said " China is the second largest economy in the world and along with the 94 companies travelling to China this week, I want to build on the links between our two countries. The aim of this trade mission is to develop and further enhance the significant commercial relationship between Ireland and China; to raise awareness of Ireland as a source of world-class products and services; and to support Irish companies in accessing opportunities within China."

"I will meet with Premier Wen Jiabao, and also speak at the Seventh Asia-Europe (ASEM) Summit in Beijing."
