The Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern T.D., will give a major speech to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement in Dublin on 3 April.

He will be addressing a major Conference titled “From Conflict to Consensus the Legacy of the Good Friday Agreement”. The Conference is being organised by the Institute of British Irish Studies in University College Dublin. The Conference will also be addressed by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Mr Shaun Woodward M.P. and other leading commentators on the recent history of Northern Ireland and British Irish relations.

Speaking in advance of the Conference the Taoiseach said “the Good Friday Agreement was a momentous milestone in the history of Ireland. The 10th Anniversary of the signing of the Agreement provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on the enormous progress made since 1998 and the future of relations on these islands.”
