Taoiseach to visit Donegal

The Taoiseach, Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D., will today, Friday, travel to Donegal where he will attend a number of engagements. The Taoiseach will begin his visit in Buncrana where he will view the site for the proposed new decentralised government offices. He will then travel to Letterkenny where he will officiate at a number of events. Whilst in Letterkenny the Taoiseach will also attend a Gala Charity Ball for Alan Doherty, in the Mount Errigal Hotel, as guest of honour.

Speaking ahead of his visit to Donegal today, the Taoiseach said

“I am delighted to get the opportunity to once again visit Donegal and meet with the people of the county. During my years as Taoiseach I have always enjoyed working with my Donegal colleagues and I have many fond memories of my visits to this wonderful part of the country. Over the years, we have worked hard to resolve the issues which are of vital importance to families and communities throughout Donegal. I believe that real changes and improvements have now been made. In creating jobs, building better infrastructure and investing in communities, I believe that Donegal has been significantly improved in the last decade. Today I look forward to viewing some of that progress.”
