The Taoiseach Mr. Brian Cowen, T.D., today welcomed the calls of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) for an integrated response to the current difficulties facing our economy and society.
"The value of the Council's analysis is as an independent body bringing a shared understanding amongst its members, including social partners. I am confident the report will make an important contribution to public discourse and to policy-making, including in the context of managing the difficult decisions immediately ahead to restore stability to the public finances", the Taoiseach said.
