Second Irish Language Scheme published for the Department of the Taoiseach
The second Irish Language Scheme 2009-2012 of the Department of the Taoiseach is currently available on the Department’s website www.taoiseach.ie
The scheme sets out the extent to which services are currently available through Irish, and identifies areas for future enhancement. It also includes a commitment to assess on an ongoing basis the level of demand for services through Irish through regular customer surveys, and to ensure that the Department continues to meet this demand in a planned, coherent and accessible way.
In welcoming the scheme, the Taoiseach said: “This scheme builds on my Department’s first language scheme, on the principles of Quality Customer Service, and on the commitment in my Department’s Customer Charter to ensure that customers who wish to conduct their business through Irish can do so. It ensures that my Department will continue to deliver the commitments set out in its first scheme, and will further develop to extent to which services are currently available to our customers in Irish.”
