€35k grants provided to community and voluntary organizations to help promote EU – Minister Murphy
Minister for European Affairs and Data Protection, Dara Murphy TD, has today congratulated twelve groups who have been awarded funding under the Department of the Taoiseach’s Communicating Europe Initiative (CEI).
Announcing the funding allocation for 2015, Minister Murphy said:
‘’Promoting knowledge about Ireland’s role in the EU, particularly amongst young people, is a priority of mine and of the Government. I am delighted at the level of interest in this year’s CEI programme. Congratulations to the 12 successful projects, all of which are extremely valuable, with the majority expected to have regional or nationwide coverage.’’
The Communicating Europe Initiative supports projects that will help improve the quality and accessibility of public information on European issues, and promote an understanding and awareness of the European Union. This year’s scheme targeted second level schools and the 18-25 age group.
