Taoiseach to attend meeting of the North South Ministerial Council in Armagh

The Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny TD, will today (Friday) attend the twenty third plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council (NSMC) in the NSMC Headquarters in Armagh.

The Taoiseach will lead members of the Cabinet who will be meeting collectively with the Northern Ireland Executive. First Minister Arlene Forter and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness will host the meeting.

Speaking in advance of the NSMC the Taoiseach said:

“I look forward to meeting today with members of the Northern Ireland Executive at the North South Ministerial Council where we will have an opportunity to have a detailed discussion on the implications of the UK Referendum for both jurisdictions. We will also discuss the overall economic picture North and South, (including business, trade and employment), a Report on Infrastructure Commitments in the Fresh Start Agreement and the North West Gateway Initiative. The meeting will afford us the opportunity to highlight progress, particularly in the economic sphere, in North-South co-operation."
